Pharmaceuticals
Pharmacy is a highly regulated sector. Managers need reliable, current and legally sound information about everything: from raw materials and production lines to customers and regulators. The main tool for this is the ERP system. With BORA Business Suite pharmaceutical operations are managed precisely and in real time.

BORA Business Suite has solutions for companies in the pharmaceutical industry. They handle the specific processes, keep strict batch control and follow good manufacturing practice, for greater efficiency and safety.
What the ERP solution for pharmaceuticals covers
For every client, the experts at BORA Solutions prepare a separate implementation project based on the workstations and the regulations in pharmacy. The solution covers these areas:
Production
- Production orders, stock in the central and workshop warehouses, and people are managed from one workstation.
- Production workshops, laboratories, warehouses and head office work in a shared database with shared master data for products and operations.
- Accounting is part of the system and calculates the exact actual cost of every batch.
Warehouse and materials
- Stock of raw materials, substances, packaging materials and finished products is always up to date, and the warehouse works in different modes.
- Products are recognised, received and moved with barcode readers and terminals, with no manual entry errors.
- Procurement is planned automatically (MRP) from stock by location, current production orders and forecast sales orders.
Sales, CRM and analytics
- Sales processes, orders, price lists and promotions to pharmacy chains and distributors are managed from the back office.
- Customer data and contracts are collected and analysed, and service gets better.
- Reports are current and are filtered by parameters you set, for quick decisions based on real data.
BORA’s regulatory and operational advantages
- Business and technical documents are created automatically and can follow the company’s quality system under the ISO series of standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Every batch can be traced (traceability): from the delivery of the active substances through production to dispatch to distributors. Expiry dates are tracked automatically.
- The system runs centrally on a server, so a new workshop, warehouse or remote workstation starts working quickly.
Ways to implement
BORA Solutions builds solutions for pharmaceuticals on two models, depending on your IT strategy and budget:
- Buying licences (On-Premise): implementation on the client’s servers.
- Renting (SaaS / Cloud): the system as a secure cloud service, with a smaller initial investment.
Experience in pharmaceuticals
The experts at BORA Solutions have delivered many projects for pharmaceutical companies in Bulgaria. Our solutions help medicine manufacturers, wholesale distributors and food supplement companies work electronically and meet the market’s requirements.
Frequently asked questions about BORA Pharmaceuticals
How does the BORA BS system handle the mandatory daily reporting to the state authorities?
With the BORA SESPA module, built under Ordinance No. 4 of 31 May 2019. The software collects the data on the quantities delivered, sold and in stock from the Positive Drug List and sends it electronically every day to the Bulgarian Drug Agency (BDA). No manual work is needed, and the risk of penalties goes down.
How are access and data security controlled when workshops and offices work in a single database?
Permissions are set in detail. Each employee (workshop operator, warehouse worker, accountant, sales manager) sees and edits only the information related to their job. All actions are recorded in a system log (Audit Trail) that shows who did what.
Can the software manage quarantine of raw materials before they are released into production?
Yes, through stock statuses. A new batch of active ingredients or substances automatically gets the status “Quarantine”. The raw material is in the warehouse but cannot be withdrawn or used in a production order. Only when the quality control laboratory approves it and the status becomes “Released” is the batch available to the workshops.
