Active Reports
BORA Active Reports shows company information in flexible lists and tables in BORA Business Suite. Every day you get from raw data to ready decisions.

Users extract, filter, group and edit operational data themselves and build their own gallery of reports. They do not need IT specialists or programmers.
What Active Reports can do
Working with data on screen
BORA Active Reports combines the finished report with work on the documents themselves:
- every row opens as a document that can be edited or deleted, and new records are added from the list;
- first you query the database, then you filter the result further on screen;
- the visible columns, row colouring by criteria (Conditional Formatting) and the totals in number fields can be set freely;
- every setup of columns, filters and grouping is saved as a “Theme/View” and used again. This way every user builds their own gallery.
Tools for adjusting the view
From the toolbar the user controls the view:
- search across the whole list and a separate first row for precise filters;
- grouping by dragging a column (Drag-and-Drop), with total rows for each group;
- columns widen automatically to fit the longest text, and the list can be reset to its original layout;
- details are shown or hidden quickly:
- Tree: the relationships between data as a hierarchy;
- Cell text: easy reading of very long descriptions;
- Barcode: entering data straight from a barcode scanner.
View types and data exchange (B2B)
Information can be shown on screen in four ways:
- default list: a plain table with rows and columns for a quick look;
- hierarchy: two linked lists at the same time, a header row and its details;
- sections: the total rows first, with the details underneath;
- totals: the details first, with the total rows at the end.
Import and export
Through Active Reports data is exchanged with external applications and partners:
- import straight into the ERP registers from Excel (with the list’s names and format), from .txt (with a choice of separator) and from the official BORA EDI templates for B2B exchange;
- export of the finished report to Excel, to Word (on company letterhead), to .txt, to BORA EDI, or copy to the clipboard.
Links between modules
From every document in Active Reports you can reach the documents linked to it in three directions:
- Trade and logistics: from the list you go directly to finance, purchasing, materials and customer files.
- Production and service: to projects, production plans, service cards, distribution and transport schedules.
- Personnel and administration: to Personnel and payroll, and to the working folder in BORA DMS for external files and team discussions.
The Ribbon container (Fluent User Interface)
Every BORA Business Suite module has central registers of documents, arranged as Active Reports in a container with a Ribbon bar. It follows the Microsoft “Fluent User Interface” standard.
Everything on a given topic is gathered in one place:
- active reports: operational reports on the topic;
- analytical reports: data processing with interactive OLAP functions;
- reports: official documents ready to print;
- settings: the user profile and the access levels;
- master data and dimensions: quick editing of the lists and of the attribute sets;
- barcode and processes: setting up barcode handling and the automatic background processes (JobLog);
- context help: a guide to every application in the container.
Frequently asked questions about Active Reports
What does it mean that I can edit data directly through an Active report?
An ordinary report only shows data. An Active report in BORA BS is a workplace. If you see a mistake in the list, a wrong customer address or a wrong expense item for example, you click the row, the document itself opens and you fix it on the spot, if you have the permissions.
How does BORA Active Reports protect us from errors when importing large Excel tables?
During import the software applies the rules of the relevant module. If the table has a partner code that does not exist or a wrong UIC, the row is not imported and an error is shown. The database stays clean.
Can a report view created by one user be shared with the whole company?
Yes. When you save the view (filters, column order, totals) in the gallery, you choose whether it stays just for you or becomes a shared company template for a given role or department.
How does the Ribbon container make our staff work faster?
The employee does not open and close lots of menus. One screen holds the list of documents, the analysis tools, the barcode scanner settings, the master data and the context help. That is why transactions are processed faster.
