Processing SSCC codes. Entering products with the barcode form, and a column in the lines of warehouse documents as well as sales and purchase documents.

What's new in Build 8.2.024

A new field, SSCC (pallet), has been added to the barcode form for handling the logistics unit.

The logistics unit is a separate unit for the purposes of transport and storage. An example of such a unit is a pallet. For managing and tracking the logistics unit along the supply chain, the GS1 standards define an identifier that is unique and valid worldwide.

The identifier is called the Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) and is the only mandatory element of the standard GS1 logistics label. The SSCC is 18 digits long and has a structure that follows the logic of the GTIN.
If you do not use GS1, you can enter your own pallet number, for example pallet 1, pallet 2 and so on for a given delivery. This way the customer can be told what a given pallet should contain.
Having data on the logistics unit in the warehouse document makes it possible to support the DispatchAdvise file required by the large retail chains.

The value of the SSCC (pallet) field can be entered by hand or by reading a barcode.
After reading, the cursor moves to the Barcode field, and checking of the products to be placed on the pallet begins.
The value of the field is carried over to the Pallet column of the document. Once the pallet is full, a new pallet number is entered/read and checking of products for the new pallet begins.

In the order/invoice/warehouse forms, the user can choose whether to see the new SSCC code field (the pallet code).

  • When exporting from orders/invoices to the warehouse, the SSCC code value of the document is passed to the warehouse document too.
  • When order/invoice/warehouse documents are copied, the new “pallet” field is NOT copied to the new document.
  • The “Pallet” field in the order/invoice/warehouse forms can also be filled in freely by hand, including when the documents are closed.

Warehouse document form: Update unit cost button

On the warehouse document form (Actions tab), the “Update unit cost” button fills in the unit price (cost) of a product.
Until now the button worked only for goods issue documents. Now it also works for goods receipt documents, as follows:

1/ The button is active only if the document is not Closed or Cancelled
2/ When it is chosen:
2.1/ If the warehouse is in Batch mode, for all lines with a batch filled in, an average unit price is calculated from the last 5 receipt documents in that warehouse
2.2/ If the warehouse is in Unique items mode, for all lines with a unique item, the unit price is the unit price of the last receipt in the warehouse
2.3/ If the warehouse is in Weighted average mode, for all lines with a record in stock on hand (SOH) in that warehouse, the unit price is taken from the stock on hand (SOH) in that warehouse.

Importing lines into warehouse documents and purchase and sales documents from a txt file: new fields

This feature can now also import data on: expiry date, in the format dd.mm.yyyy, object and cost object. The import template has the matching columns added for this.

How the fields are processed:

1/ When importing sales documents, the SetUp parameter AllowNonExistLot is checked to see whether a batch that does not exist may be entered in a sales document.
2/ The expiry date field in a warehouse document is NOT processed.
3/ The Object field accepts objects by the same logic as when filling in the relevant documents by hand.
4/ If a “,” (comma) is supplied in the quantity and/or amount fields, it is now treated as a dot.

In the forms of warehouse documents and purchase and sales documents (purchase and sales invoices, customer orders and purchase orders), an Image line has been added under Links, showing the product image if it has been loaded on the product record.
